Designer legend Ross Lovegrove called it a “paradigm shift in design” when he presented the coveted 3D Pioneers Challenge trophy to Hyperganic. The process of designing an object from algorithms instead of a visual model was considered a breakthrough in engineering by the jury, which reviewed entries from more than 23 countries in a multi-stage selection process. Director of Design Duy-Anh Pham accepted the prize on behalf of the team, which included Hyperganic CTO Michael Gallo, the principal designer of the algorithmic approach, and AM Ventures’ Stefan Bindl, who oversaw the printing process on the EOS M290.
